GBA X-ROM with NDS ROMS
In our latest series of Nintendo DS flash card testing we looked at how GBA Flash Cards that were not originaly made to play NDS roms can actualy handle them...
And here you have one of our favorite cards GBA X-ROM runing Nintendo DS homebrew roms and DEMO nds roms from the E3.
 |
In order for Nintendo DS to load NDS code form GBA flash card it has to be redirected to reading from Gameboy slot by PassMe / Magic Key or you have to have your NDS firmware updated with the FlashMe hack...

Here you can see us playing Submarine E3 Download Tech Demo NDS rom.
(I hope they make this into a full game like hey did with Yoshi demo! This would be 5 times more fun than Yoshi :) IMPO

And NO this is not ZELDA DS, but rather x-rom with Zelda Gallery E3 Download Demo nds rom. Sure would like to see such a Zelda game on Nintendo DS!!! |
So for this whole thing to work we had to put the X-rom 512mb into our Gameboy Advance or SP
connect it to PC using the X-ROM Flasher (USB Linker cable), run Little Writer software and select SINGLE ROM option.
(Most likely you have use your X-rom flash card with the multiboot menu for multiple gba roms so you will have to format it to get it to flashing single roms.)
NDS roms have to be in the form of GAMENAME.DS.GBA or NDS.GBA
PassMe / Magic Key has to be in the DS Card Slot for NDS roms to boot from X-ROM.
(or your console has to have FlashMe hack applied to it - no need for Passme after that)
And NO at this time there is no way to run Commercial Golden Sun Team NDS ROMS using anything else but NeoFlash / XG2 flash cards and Magic Key. I am 100% sure that alternative solutions for laying Nintendo DS games will come out sooner or later, but we don't know when.
