Jan 2004. Not too long ago a nice little packed arrived at our test labs containing one of the latest GBA Flash Card & Linker set from China. It is called QBus
QBus Flash Linker USB / ROM Writer
USB link cable connects to PC USB and the other end plugs into the mini-USB port on QBus Flash Linker. QBus looks exactly like a real GAMEBOY
ADVANCE. What is different is that GBA Link port is replaced by a USB port and the screen on the QBus is just a sticker.
With QBus Flash Linker and current software you can download gba roms from the net, play them on PC with the built-in emulator and write roms to Q-Bus Flash Card.
QBus Game Pad
When connected to PC - QBus is immediately recognized by Windows as a PC Game Controller. If you have WinXP the drivers for the GamePad will be automatically installed and you will see that in your Settings > Control Panel > Game Controllers you have a QBoy V1.00 added. Now you can use it as a controller for any PC game or play GBA emulators on computer with an exact GAMEBOY ADVANCE kay layout ;) The most realistic emulation ever.
USB to Mini USB cable is ~1.5 meters or 5 feet long. Convenient if you have the PC stacked under the table.
You can use the QBoy software for playing GBA roms without connecting the QBus Writer to the PC but if you want to backup roms to the Flash Card make sure that the Linker is connected and the cad is in the game slot. (fully inside it like in GBA - in the picture it is only half way down because we wanted to show you where it has to be inserted.)
