WiseBox & WiseCard
Wise Box is Gameboy Advance Backup unit.
WiseBox has
its own GBA Flash Card called "Wise Card".
Dimensions of the cart are the same as original Nintendo gba cartridge.
Cartridges come with 64M / 128M or 256M of memory BUT with the
current software you can only have 1 GBA rom on the cart at a time.
If you use the Wise Card for Z80,
Chip8, NES roms than you can
have multiple roms on the cartridge. If the Multirom
has been pre-made you can flash it to the card and play multigames
from it. Like I was able to write Chinese pirate 49in1 (Mario Kart
+ 48 Nintendo 8bit games) multigame rom to the WiseCard and it
played it all nicely.
Also 64M card may be too small from some
of the new games, bust most of the rom files are 32 and 64Mbit
sot you will be able
to play
~90% of the games. Also separate 128M and 256M carts are available,
so you don't have to worry about that! Wise Box Linker / Writer is a little bit bigger
than gameboy advance itself. It connects to PC via Printer port.
You
have an
option
of backuping
original GB Advance game directly to the Wise Card or saving it
on your PC for later use. Also rom files from your computer can
be written to a Flash Card. Wise Box is the only gba
cartridge backup device that lets you directly copy cartridges
to flash cards without
the use of PC!
- Insert the original GBA game in the Source slot, the WiseCard
in the Target slot
- select the size of the Gameboy Game you will copy [SELCT] button
- push the [START] button on the box to begin the backup process
- indicator LED will show you when the card is being programmed
and when the process has finished OK of if there have been some
errors.
The Software is nice and simple. Installing it doesn't
present any problems. After you install it connect the WiseBox
to the PC printer port, turn it ON. Now run the software and you
will see a simple menu (look at the picture). Basic operations.
- [Burn Card] > [Setup Source]
> [ROM File] Select
the rom file to be written to the cart. Than [Start
Burn]
> [Save Data] Select
the save game file to be written.
- [Back Card] - Auto detects the name / size of the cartridge
and stores it on PC as ROM or you can select to backup only the
Save Game Data.

! Have to say that this is absolutely the cheapest Flash linker
set you can get. Has nice and easy to use software and can be used
to copy cartridges directly 1-to-1 without a PC, but it has some
drawbacks like not being able to play GBA multiroms and run Pogo
Shell software.
